Asphalt protection from kerosene, benzine

If You wish to protect your asphalt pavement from negative influence of kerosene, benzine and other aggressive to bitumen fluids, we recommend to coat the asphalt surface with special kerosene resistant coating Resin K. This coating is recommended to be applied manually using rubber scrubber twice. Quantity of Resin K depends on porosity of the asphalt mat.

Additives for anti-rutting


In order to increase asphalt layer's rutting resistance we recommend different products which can be supplied into hot mix pug mill manually or by dosing equipment.
1) Sasobit - special wax well blending in the bitumen and gives double effect: Sasobit 200x150
a) reduce bitumen viscosity in it's temperature regime above 110 deg. C - it is why Sasobit is widely in use for production of Warm asphalt mixes (WMA).
b) strengthens the bitumen and makes asphalt mix (asphalt layer) more rutting resistance when the temperature of asphalt layer gets down, below 70 deg. C.
The best results can be achieved when adding 2-3% of Sasobit into the bitumen and mixing it with slow mixers or circullation pumps.
Sasobit is very good to use in production of SBS modified bitumen, because it allows to increase SBS content and keeps PmB viscosity lower plus gives extra mechanical strength to the mix.

If there are no possibilities to add Sasobit into bitumen tanks, then it can be added into the hot mix pug mill in the same time with bitumen supply or after and well mixing. Sasobit can be supplied in 2 kg polyethylene bags for manual dosing.

Superplast  150x155As the modifier for hot mix, we can recommend special granullated polymer Superplast. This product we recommend to add together with hot aggregate and after melting well mixing it with the bitumen. Such hot mix modification improves rutting resistance for the asphalt layer. We recommend 5% of Superplast from bitumen content.

 

 

 

2) One more way to improve rutting resistance is by mixing recyckled tyre rubber with special additives - Storelastic into the hot mix. Storelastic 300x168

We recommend to add 10% - 20 % of Storelastic from the bitumen content.

 

 

 

 

3) Natural bitumen in solid form (0-5 mm or 4-12 mm) is another one effective way to improve rutting resistatnce for hot asphalt mixes. 10% of project bitumen can be replaced by 12-15% of the Natural bitumen to be supplied into the pug mill will provide better adhesion, longer life time for the asphalt and high temperature properties for the asphalt mix will be achieved similar as to the mixes with harder bitumen.   SLN 160 x130

Additives for color asphalt

If You don't want your pavement to be traditionally black, we offer:

Iteroxid200x116- pigments to change the black color of the hot mix (bitumen). For example, adding 3-4 % of red pigment we may achieve reddish - brown color of mix.;


 

TransparentBinder200x150- transparent dual component binder replacing black bitumen. In this case, adding just 1 % of any color pigment we may achieve hot mix of requested color;

Fibres for SMA

Cellulose fibres in production of SMA are very important to keep bitumen film undrained during SMA transportation, paving and compaction. Standard loose or granulated fibres are well known in the market, so our aim here is to pay SMA manufacturers atention to special - multifunctional cellulose fibres, which will absorb the bitumen, but also will improve adhesion between bitumen and aggregate; will improve compaction; will improve mixing and compaction at lower mixing temperature; will improve rutting resistance and etc.

VIATOP® Plus AD10 - granulated product, consisting of cellulose fibre, bitumen and adhesion improver.

VIATOP® Plus C25 - granulated product, consisting of cellulose fibre and special additive which improves compaction.

VIATOP® Plus CT40 - granulated product, consisting of cellulose fibre and special additive which improves mixing and compaction at reduced in 30° C  temperature level.

Additives to produce cold mix for repairs

For production of cold asphalt mixes for road repairs we recommend following additives: Iterlene IN/200Special, Iteroil G40, Iteroil BG.
All these additives make anti-sticking film surrounding bitumen coated aggregate. Additionally to this feature, Iterlene IN200 Special also improves bitumen adhesion to aggregate.
We recommend following production process:
- aggregate of required granulometry have to be well dryed in a dryer drum and then have to be kept until aggregate temperature drops down to 80° C;
- warm, but not hot aggregate has to be feeded into the pug mill of the asphalt plant and well mixed with bitumen 160/220 (harder bitumen, for example 70/100, can be used as well, but the mix will be harder and more additives we will used). Usual content of the bitumen is 4,0 - 4,5% from the aggregate weight.
- when aggregate is well covered by the bitumen, it is time to feed in Iterlene IN/200Special or Iteroil G40, Iteroil BG into the mixer and continue mixing until we get good homogeneity. Depending on aggregate granulometry, bitumen we use, plasticity of the cold mix we expect, the dosage of the mentioned additives can vary from 20% up to 35% from the bitumen weight.

Very often in a simple way repaired hole can last longer, than the asphalt surface around it - it's a signal for complete renovation of the asphalt layer, because the patching of the holes is very temporary solution.
